I don't think I've ever met a bride and groom so relaxed on their wedding day! I met up with Jim and Laura at their rustic country venue The Great Barn at Rolvenden the day before their wedding as they were setting the barn up, and even then I could tell this was going to be a very relaxed affair. Perfect.
It was really important to both Jim & Laura that their day be about their vows. So they kept the day very simple cutting out a lot of the formal traditions. Quite simply... it was a wedding and a party! I do admire brides and grooms who aren't afraid to veer away from the tradional wedding day, and follow their heart by having a wedding day that is unique and personal to them. The venue they chose echoed their relaxed take on the day, and even Laura rocked up to her wedding day wearing under her stunning handmade dress her riding boots! What a girl. The men even relaxed after the ceremony with cigars.
Laura's beautiful dress was handmade my a family friend, and the men kept to the rustic theme with tweed jackets. The whole style and day worked fantastically.
They were incredibly lucky with the October weather, and we were able to take some time to walk around the beautiful grounds at The Great Barn to capture some lovely portraits of the newlyweds.
Both Jim and Laura and their friends and family made me feel incredibly welcome on the day, and I thoroughly enjoyed capturing this amazing relaxed country wedding for them. Here's a small snippet of their day...
